It is with a heavy heart that we say Goodbye to Mary Strickland. Mary passed away this morning. Mary Strickland is not only my sister, Tina Strickland's mother-in-law. Mary was a friend, one of our Companion Aides who worked as an independent contractor and one of our elderly clients as well. Mary was a strong, compassionate christian woman, she welcomed and loved all of those she touched without judgement. I'll never forget a staff meeting when Mary shared how she had led a life as a Caretaker including the care of her children, family members with Dementia and Alzheimer's, annual foreign exchange students and the list goes on. While shedding a tear, Mary said "for the first time in my life, I'm getting paid to do something that I've done my whole life and I love it". I have never forgotten nor will I ever forget her heartfelt comments. She blessed our lives in more ways than she will ever know. May we all learn from Mary's example and may she rest in peace....Lisa Hatcher Wingfield
